Prayer of Children for Their Living Parents

O righteous Lord God, You commanded us to honor father and mother, and when You Yourself became flesh, You humbly obeyed Your parents on earth.

I humbly pray to You, my Lord and God: hear my voice and have mercy on my parents, who bring me up in Your goodness and love.

Turn away from them every harmful passion and illness; grant them health, length of days, and a peaceful life, and mercifully pour out Your abundant blessing upon them. Bless their labors and service, and have mercy on them in Your compassion, so that, having faithfully served You and worthily brought me up for Your glory and service, they may receive Your grace in this life and eternal life hereafter. Amen.
