Monday: The Heavenly Bodiless Hosts
Troparion, Tone 4
Commanders of the heavenly armies, we who are unworthy continually entreat you: through your prayers shelter us beneath the wings of your immaterial glory, preserving us who earnestly fall before you and cry: Deliver us from troubles, for you are the leaders of the powers on high.
Kontakion, Tone 2
Commanders of God’s armies, ministers of divine glory, leaders of angels and guides of mankind: ask for what is good for us and for great mercy, for you are the commanders of the bodiless hosts.
Tuesday: Saint John the Forerunner
Troparion, Tone 2
The memory of the righteous is celebrated with praise, but the Lord’s own testimony is sufficient for you, O Forerunner. For you were truly shown to be more honorable than the prophets, since you were counted worthy to baptize in the waters Him whom they foretold. Therefore, having suffered joyfully for the truth, you proclaimed to those in Hades also the good news of God revealed in the flesh, who takes away the sin of the world and grants us great mercy.
Kontakion, Tone 2
Prophet of God and Forerunner of grace, having found your head in the earth like a most sacred rose, we always receive healing; for once again, as before, you preach repentance in the world.
Wednesday: The Holy Cross
Troparion, Tone 1
Save Your people, Lord, and bless Your inheritance, granting victory over adversaries and preserving Your people by Your Cross.
Kontakion, Tone 4
You who willingly were lifted up on the Cross, grant Your compassion to the new people bearing Your name, O Christ God. Gladden us by Your power, granting us victory over adversaries, with Your help as our weapon of peace and invincible victory.
Thursday: The Holy Apostles and Saint Nicholas
Troparion to the Apostles, Tone 3
Holy apostles, pray to the merciful God that He may grant our souls forgiveness of transgressions.
Kontakion to the Apostles, Tone 2
The steadfast preachers who spoke for God, the foremost of Your apostles, You received into the enjoyment of Your blessings and rest, O Lord. For You accepted their labors and death above every whole burnt offering, O You who alone know what is in the heart.
Troparion to Saint Nicholas, Tone 4
The truth of your deeds revealed you to your flock as a rule of faith, an image of meekness, and a teacher of self-restraint. Thus by humility you attained the heights, and by poverty, riches. Father and hierarch Nicholas, pray to Christ God that our souls may be saved.
Kontakion to Saint Nicholas, Tone 3
In Myra, O holy one, you were shown to be a minister of the sacred mysteries. For having fulfilled the Gospel of Christ, venerable father, you laid down your life for your people and saved the innocent from death. Therefore you were sanctified as a great initiate of the grace of God.
Friday: The Holy Cross
Troparion, Tone 1
Save Your people, Lord, and bless Your inheritance, granting victory over adversaries and preserving Your people by Your Cross.
Kontakion, Tone 4
You who willingly were lifted up on the Cross, grant Your compassion to the new people bearing Your name, O Christ God. Gladden us by Your power, granting us victory over adversaries, with Your help as our weapon of peace and invincible victory.
Saturday: All Saints and the Departed
Troparion to All Saints, Tone 2
Apostles, martyrs and prophets, hierarchs, monastics and righteous ones, who have completed the good struggle and kept the faith: having boldness before the Savior, pray to Him, the good One, for us; we entreat you, that our souls may be saved.
Kontakion to All Saints, Tone 8
As the firstfruits of nature, the world offers You the God-bearing martyrs, Lord, who planted all creation. Through their prayers and through the Theotokos, preserve Your Church, Your people, in profound peace, O most merciful One.
Troparion for the Departed, Tone 2
Remember Your servants, Lord, for You are good, and forgive whatever sins they committed in life. For no one is without sin except You, who are able to grant rest also to the departed.
Kontakion for the Departed, Tone 8
With the saints, give rest, O Christ, to the souls of Your servants, where there is no illness, sorrow, or sighing, but life without end.
Sunday: The Resurrection of Christ
Tone 1
Troparion, Tone 1
Though the stone was sealed by the Jews and soldiers guarded Your most pure body, You rose on the third day, O Savior, giving life to the world. Therefore the heavenly powers cried to You, O Giver of life: Glory to Your Resurrection, O Christ; glory to Your Kingdom; glory to Your saving dispensation, O only Lover of mankind.
Kontakion
You rose in glory from the tomb as God and raised the world with You. Human nature praises You as God, and death has vanished. Adam rejoices, O Master, and Eve, now freed from her bonds, is glad and cries: You, O Christ, are the one who grants resurrection to all.
Tone 2
Troparion, Tone 2
When You descended to death, O immortal Life, You put Hades to death by the radiance of Your divinity. And when You raised the dead from the depths, all the heavenly powers cried: O Giver of life, Christ our God, glory to You.
Kontakion
You rose from the tomb, almighty Savior, and Hades, seeing the wonder, was terrified, and the dead arose. Creation beholds this and rejoices with You; Adam shares in the gladness, and the world, O my Savior, praises You always.
Tone 3
Troparion, Tone 3
Let the heavens be glad and the earth rejoice, for the Lord has shown the might of His arm. He has trampled down death by death and become the firstborn of the dead. He has delivered us from the depths of Hades and granted great mercy to the world.
Kontakion
Today You rose from the tomb, O compassionate One, and brought us up from the gates of death. Today Adam rejoices and Eve is glad, and with them the prophets and patriarchs continually praise the divine might of Your authority.
Tone 4
Troparion, Tone 4
Having learned from the angel the radiant proclamation of the Resurrection, and having cast off the ancestral condemnation, the women disciples of the Lord joyfully told the apostles: Death has been overthrown; Christ God has risen, granting great mercy to the world.
Kontakion
My Savior and Deliverer rose from the tomb and, as God, raised those born on earth from their bonds. He shattered the gates of Hades and, as Master, rose on the third day.
Tone 5
Troparion, Tone 5
Let us, the faithful, praise and worship the Word, who is without beginning with the Father and the Spirit, and was born of the Virgin for our salvation. For He was pleased to ascend the Cross in the flesh, to endure death, and to raise the dead through His glorious Resurrection.
Kontakion
You descended to Hades, O my Savior, and shattered its gates as the almighty One. As Creator, You raised the dead with You and broke the sting of death; and Adam was freed from the curse, O Lover of mankind. Therefore we all cry: Save us, Lord.
Tone 6
Troparion, Tone 6
The angelic powers were at Your tomb, and those guarding it became as dead. Mary stood at the tomb, seeking Your most pure body. You took Hades captive, unharmed by it; You met the Virgin, granting life. O Lord, risen from the dead, glory to You.
Kontakion
Having raised all the dead from the dark valleys by His life-giving hand, Christ God, the Giver of life, granted resurrection to the human race; for He is the Savior of all, the Resurrection and the Life, and the God of all.
Tone 7
Troparion, Tone 7
By Your Cross You destroyed death; You opened Paradise to the thief; You changed the myrrh-bearing women’s lamentation into joy; and You commanded the apostles to proclaim that You had risen, O Christ God, granting great mercy to the world.
Kontakion
The dominion of death can no longer hold mankind, for Christ descended, crushing and destroying its power. Hades is bound, and the prophets rejoice together, saying: The Savior has appeared to those who have faith; come forth, you faithful, to the resurrection.
Tone 8
Troparion, Tone 8
You descended from on high, O compassionate One, and accepted burial for three days to free us from our passions. O Lord, our Life and Resurrection, glory to You.
Kontakion
Rising from the tomb, You raised the dead and restored Adam to life. Eve rejoices in Your Resurrection, and the ends of the earth celebrate Your rising from the dead, O most merciful One.
