Prayer to Saint Tikhon of Zadonsk

O all-praised hierarch and servant of Christ, our father Tikhon! Having lived like an angel on earth, you appeared as a good angel also in your wondrous glorification. We believe with all our soul and mind that you, our kindhearted helper and intercessor, always aid our salvation through your faithful petitions and the grace abundantly given you by the Lord. Accept, then, O glorified servant of Christ, our unworthy prayers at this hour also. Free us by your intercession from the idle talk and empty reasoning surrounding us, from false faith and destructive human beliefs. Hasten, our ready advocate, through your favorable intercession to entreat the Lord to continue His great and abundant mercies toward us, His sinful and unworthy servants; to heal by His grace the incurable sores and wounds of our corrupted souls and bodies; to soften our hardened hearts with tears of tenderness and contrition for our many sins; and to deliver us from eternal torment and the fire of Gehenna. May He grant all His faithful people peace and quiet, health and salvation, and good assistance in all things in this present age, so that, having lived a quiet and peaceful life in all godliness and purity, we may be counted worthy, with the angels and all the saints, to glorify and praise the all-holy name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit for ever and ever. Amen.
