Prayer to Righteous Joseph the Betrothed

O holy and righteous Joseph! While you were still on earth, you had great boldness before the Son of God, who was pleased to call you His father, as the betrothed of His Mother, and to obey you. We believe that now, dwelling with the hosts of the righteous in the heavenly habitations, you will be heard in every petition you make to our God and Savior. Therefore, seeking your protection and intercession, we humbly pray to you: as you yourself were delivered from the storm of doubtful thoughts, deliver us also, tossed by the waves of confusion and passions; as you shielded the all-pure Virgin from human slander, shield us also from every false accusation; as you kept the incarnate Lord from every harm and malice, so preserve His Orthodox Church and all of us by your intercession from every evil and harm. You know, O saint of God, that the Son of God also had bodily needs in the days of His earthly life, and you ministered to them. Therefore we pray to you: help us by your intercession in our temporal needs also, providing every good thing necessary for us in this life. Above all we ask you: obtain for us forgiveness of sins from Him who was called your Son, the only-begotten Son of God, our Lord Jesus Christ; and by your intercession make us worthy to inherit the Kingdom of Heaven, so that, dwelling with you in the heavenly habitations, we too may glorify the one God in three Persons, the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, now and for ever and ever. Amen.
