Prayer for the Blessing and Protection of a Home

A prayer for the blessing of a home, peace within it, and protection from visible and invisible dangers.

May the almighty and merciful God—the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit—bless and preserve us.

O sweetest Jesus Christ, almighty King of heaven and earth, Son of David, Jesus of Nazareth, Who for our sake wast crucified upon the Cross: have mercy on this house and preserve those who dwell in it. May Thy blessing accompany them everywhere; may the Holy Spirit sanctify their thoughts and hearts. By His almighty power, may the Most Holy Trinity bless everything in this house, all who enter it and all who depart from it, and preserve them from every evil, that nothing unclean may draw near them.

May the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, together with the nine ranks of Angels, abide in this house and grant it peace. May the Most Holy Virgin Mary cover it with her maternal protection; may the holy Apostles guard it; and may the holy Evangelists establish and strengthen its well-being.

May the Cross of our Lord Jesus Christ be its roof; may the nails of our Lord Jesus Christ be its defense; may the crown of our Lord Jesus Christ be its protection.

O Most Holy Virgin Mary, holy and righteous Joseph, all the saints, and holy Guardian Angels: entreat our Lord Jesus Christ, One of the Holy Trinity, that He preserve this house from thunder, lightning, fire, hail, flood, the assault of evil people, want, unbelief, heresy, war, and every misfortune that threatens soul or body. In this may God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit help us. Amen.

Vouchsafe, O Lord, to keep us this day—or this night—without sin.
