The Great Light, shining upon those sitting in darkness (see Matt. 4:16), visited us from on high: the Dayspring (see Luke 1:78), Your Son and God, O Virgin. Having made You a candle upon a lampstand, He teaches the light-bearing children of the Church to offer You these words:

Prayer 1st

O all-merciful and most wondrous Mother of God, Pantanassa, Queen of All! I am not worthy that You should come under my roof (see Matt. 8:8). But as the merciful Mother of the merciful God, speak the word, that my soul may be healed and my weak body strengthened. You possess invincible power, and no word of Yours shall be impossible (see Luke 1:37), O Queen of All! Intercede for me and pray for me, that I may glorify Your glorious name always, now and unto endless ages. Amen.

Prayer 2

Oh, Most Pure Mother of God, Queen of All! Hear our many-sorrowful sighing before Your miraculous icon, brought from the inheritance of Athos to Russia, look at Your children, suffering from incurable ailments, falling to Your holy image with faith!

As a bird covers its chicks with its wings, so now You, forever living, cover us with Your multi-healing omophorion. Where hope disappears, be Hope, alien to doubt. Where fierce sorrows prevail, appear as Patience and Relief for us. Where the darkness of despair has settled in souls, let the ineffable light of the Divine shine! Comfort the faint-hearted, strengthen the weak, grant softening and enlightenment to hardened hearts.

Heal Your sick people, O All-Merciful Queen! Bless the minds and hands of those who heal us, may they serve as an instrument of the Almighty Physician Christ, our Savior.

We pray to You as if alive, here with us, before Your icon, O Lady! Extend Your hands, filled with healing and healing, Joy to those who mourn, Consolation in sorrows, so that we, having soon received miraculous help, glorify the Life-Giving Indivisible Trinity, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit forever and ever. Amen.
